Aboriginal Family Support Services (AFSS) is a lead, Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisation that has been providing services to Aboriginal families and communities across South Australia for over 40 years.
The Manager, Finance and Administration is responsible for the efficient day to day running of the finance and administration areas of AFSS with support from the Corporate Services team. This involves overseeing reception, payroll, document management, asset management, accounts payable and receivable, month end reconciliations and rollover, monthly and quarterly financial reporting, and audit preparation. This position requires strong management and leadership ability and service focus. A high level of consultation with all levels of staff and an understanding of the problems different areas face is required. Flexibility, coupled with a high level of technical expertise in computer-based accounting packages will contribute to success in this role.
Who we are looking for
- Work under the Senior Manager Corporate Services in exercising a high level of problem-solving, leadership and direction to staff and general service delivery.
- Providing staff with ongoing professional support through regular supervision and appraisals.
- Monitor and authorise finance and payroll paperwork to ensure integrity of information, adherence to International Financial Accounting Reporting standards and all timeframes are met.
- Undertaken regular monthly reviews of budget vs actual results with all Program Managers.
- Devising and monitoring standards of practice within the Agency’s policies and procedures and Acts of Parliament which govern the Agency’s work.
- Providing leadership within Finance and Administration and providing quality professional advice and support to Management, external service providers and the community.
To be successful you will need
- A South Australian Working with Children Check (WWCC)
- A NDIS Workers Check
- National Police Clearance
- A Safe Environments for Children and Young People Certificate
- A current South Australian Drivers Licence
- Unrestricted eligibility to work in Australia
- CPA, CA or equivalent accounting qualifications is highly desirable
