About the Opportunity

The Town of Cottesloe is a values-driven organisation. We are seeking to appoint a capable person to lead the Mowing team in maintaining our beautiful surrounds. The Team Leader - Mowing role will ensure a high standard of turf maintenance in designated parks and gardens and other prominent locations within the Town of Cottesloe.

Key duties under the direction of the Coordinator Parks and Operations may include, but are not limited to;

Responsible for the supervision of the Mowing Team;

Liaise with the Coordinator Parks and Operations to plan and assign tasks to the Team;

Carries out quality control of works including safety management and compliance;

Identifies necessary works and instigates remedial works;

Ensures Council vehicles and machinery are maintained and used correctly and efficiently;

Liaises with other departments, developers/builders, public utilities and the public;

Ensure safe working practices are adhered to at all times;

Appropriately apply the requirements of Work Health and Safety regulations;

Ensure safety of employees and compliance with occupational health and safety legislation;

Report any unsafe conditions or incidents that may occur.

About you

The ideal candidate will possess the qualifications, experience and personal attributes necessary to perform effectively in this role.

Essential

Demonstrated capability to supervise/lead people;

Good working knowledge/experience in turf management;

Demonstrated commitment to Workplace Health and Safety requirements;

Excellent organisation and time management capabilities;

Ability to build and maintain effective relationships; and

Demonstrated commitment to customer service.

Additional Requirements

Current (minimum) MR Licence (HR preferred);

Current Australian Working Rights;

Current National Police Clearance (or ability to obtain); and

Willingness to under-go a Pre-Employment Medical (as required).
