Burra Hospital

The Burra Hospital is located in the quaint township of Burra, a town rich in mining history. Burra is home to the “Monster Mine,” a large open-cut copper mine that once played a significant role in shaping the prosperity of South Australia.

Situated 164 kilometres from Adelaide, Burra boasts a village-like atmosphere, with many historic buildings lining the town square. The district is well known for its thriving agricultural industry, particularly wool, fat lambs, and cattle.

Burra is also conveniently close to the world-famous Clare and Barossa Valley wine regions and just a 30-minute drive from the township of Clare.

Burra Hospital offers 5 acute beds and 16 MPS aged care beds. Its services include 24-hour accident and emergency care, acute inpatient care, palliative care, and residential aged care. The hospital also supports visiting GP, dental, and allied health services.
