Lead a high-performing Mechanical Design team and drive innovation across diverse engineering projects!

We’re seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer Manager to lead and develop a team of engineers, delivering high-quality, innovative solutions from concept through to completion. This role is full-time and based in Meadowbrook, where you’ll play a critical part in shaping design strategies, mentoring staff, and ensuring projects are delivered to scope, budget, and schedule.

What will you be doing?

• Leading and managing the Mechanical Design Engineering team
• Setting strategic objectives in collaboration with senior leadership
• Acting as the main contact for all mechanical engineering projects
• Overseeing design projects from concept to completion within scope, budget, and deadlines
• Providing technical expertise on complex design challenges, including FEA and system integration
• Ensuring compliance with customer requirements, Australian Standards, and internal quality processes
• Recruiting, training, mentoring, and conducting performance reviews for the design team
• Driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance quality, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness
• Collaborating across departments and engaging in customer and vendor discussions

What do you need?

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering (postgraduate or leadership training preferred)
• 5+ years’ experience in mechanical design with at least 2 years in a leadership role
• Proficiency in 3D CAD (AutoCAD Inventor preferred), FEA software, and project management tools
• Strong knowledge of Australian engineering standards and regulatory requirements
• Exceptional leadership, mentoring, and team management skills
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making ability
• High level of organisation, accuracy, and attention to detail
