About the role
An exciting opportunity with an industry-leading organisation currently exists in order to fill a key role in their finance team. This Financial Accountant position will assist in leading the management and communication of the companies’ financial & management accounting activities on a domestic scale. Initially, this role will commence as a long-term contract for 12 months however has the genuine view for permanency following this period given the growth trajectory of this organisation.

The responsibilities
Reporting directly into the CFO, your responsibilities will include (but are not limited to);

• Process month end closing, complete reconciliations and maintain ledgers.
• Assist in forecasting, budgeting and variance analysis.
• Provide quality, accurate and timely customer-focused financial and management accounting services, information and advice to management.
• Perform month-end sales reconciliation by reconciling sales transactions using Xero, investigating discrepancies
• Ensure accurate and timely allocation of shared costs across the organisation through the finance recharge process, supporting transparency, budget control, and financial accountability.
• Maintenance and reconciliation of the asset register
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives across in systems, reporting, process and efficiency

The successful applicant will have
Ideally, you will be a CA/CPA qualified accounting professional or studying towards, and possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills as your ability to interact and engage cross functionally within the business will be crucial to your success. You will be able to work cohesively within a team and also autonomously as well. Additionally, you will enjoy working in a dynamic and agile work environment. Prior experience with Xero will be considered advantageous.
