Principal Planning Officer – Infrastructure Strategy A large Queensland Government department is seeking a Principal Planning Officer to join the Service Strategy team. Based in Brisbane CBD, this role will lead portfolio oversight, planning, and reporting activities to support the delivery of culturally responsive and future-focused education infrastructure across the state.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide oversight and reporting on planning programs to support long-term infrastructure needs.
  
  
• Coordinate co-design strategic planning activities with communities, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander stakeholders.
  
  
• Lead stakeholder engagement processes to ensure inclusive and culturally appropriate outcomes.
  
  
• Develop and maintain reporting frameworks, performance measures, and planning tools.
  
  
• Contribute to policy, processes, and strategies to drive continuous improvement in planning outcomes.
  
  
• Provide high-level advice, reports, and briefing material to senior executives and stakeholders.
  
  
• Undertake travel to regional and remote communities as required, including remote driving and light aircraft flights.
  
  

Skills & Experience:

• Strong facilitation and engagement skills, with proven ability to build trust with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
  
  
• Demonstrated experience in project or program management, reporting, and strategic planning.
  
  
• Ability to balance long-term strategic objectives with program constraints and delivery realities.
  
  
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with experience in continuous improvement.
  
  
• Skilled in preparing and presenting reports, briefs, and executive-level correspondence.
  
  
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, OneNote), with SAP or Content Manager experience highly regarded.
  
  
• Relevant qualifications in project or program management, or related disciplines, are desirable.
