About the role:
The Men’s Behaviour Change Program Worker is a part time (0.8 FTE, 30.4 hours per week) ongoing position within the Response and Recovery team, providing individual assessment sessions, case management and programs for people using violence who would like to change their behaviour, with the purpose of increasing the safety of family members. Based at our Bendigo office, with other work across the region as required, the hours of this role will be flexible to accommodate after-hours group facilitation.

This role supports positive client outcomes by:

  • Empowering Change – Conduct thorough intake and assessment interviews with people referred to the program, setting the foundation for meaningful transformation.
  • Leading with Purpose – Co-facilitate group programs as the Principal Facilitator or MBC facilitator, guiding participants toward ending family violence and fostering respectful, responsible relationships.
  • Staying Ahead of Demand – Demonstrate strong prioritisation skills by managing referrals and workloads effectively, implementing smart demand management strategies to maintain service excellence.
  • Providing Meaningful Case Management – Offer tailored case management, maintaining a caseload of participants actively engaged in the Men's Behaviour Change (MBC) group program.
  • Strengthening Community Connections – Provide expert secondary consultation and community education to other service providers, enhancing collaborative efforts across the sector.

About you:

  • A relevant tertiary qualification in social work, psychology, counselling /or a related field is essential.
  • A graduate diploma or graduate certificate qualification in men’s family violence is desirable.
  • Completed Victorian Risk Assessment and Risk Management Framework Training (Multiagency Risk Assessment and Management – MARAM).
  • Completed observation of a minimum of 10 men’s behaviour change group sessions, 100 hours of experience is desirable.
  • Proven experience in conducting case management and counselling services, including intake and assessment interviews with people using violence.
