About the role
The role of Assessment Manager is to lead and manage the development implementation and outcomes of the assessment of applications. Fundamental to this role is the provision and communication of application procedures, tertiary entrance requirements, institutional and course entry requirements, and international and interstate tertiary entrance requirements. Equally leading the Applications Team and developing capability within its members is a core function of this position. A high degree of client service delivery, at crucial and often extremely busy periods, is required for dispensing information and advice to applicants, and institutions through training, selection materials, meetings and frequent briefings of system changes and initiatives flowing from annual review and local projects and innovations.
Qualifications
a postgraduate degree, or progress towards, in education or another relevant field and extensive relevant experience
an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
Essential Skills:
Proven leadership and team management experience, including staff rostering, recruitment and selection, training, coaching and counselling
Proven planning, prioritisation, and organisational skills with the ability to manage tasks and demands, adhering to inflexible timelines, and achieving tight deadlines in pressured environments.
Demonstrated expertise and ability in leading and managing projects from conception to completion and the ability to communicate change effectively
Advanced analytical and decision-making abilities
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Experience with assessment frameworks and processes
Proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools
Employment Requirements:
Travel to other locations may be required.
There may be a requirement to work additional hours from time to time.
There may be peak periods of work during which taking of leave may be restricted.
A current satisfactory Working with Children Check is required.
Other Requirements:
Experience with student information systems or assessment platforms
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel for data analysis
Knowledge of tertiary admission processes and quality frameworks
Understanding of compliance and regulatory requirements in education
