Employment Type: Full-time or Part-time
Start Date: ASAP
About Books360
Books360 is a fast-growing accounting and advisory firm passionate about helping businesses grow and succeed. We partner with a diverse portfolio of clients across a range of industries, providing high-quality bookkeeping, compliance, tax and CFO services to support smarter business decisions.
We pride ourselves on delivering exceptional service through high-quality work, open communication, and a proactive, solutions-focused approach.
The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accounting Manager / Team Lead to join our team. This is a client-facing role responsible for ensuring the smooth delivery of bookkeeping, compliance, and reporting services across our client base. You'll work closely with our junior accountants, oversee the quality of deliverables, and act as the interface between our internal team and the client whilst working closely with the Managing Director.
This role would ideally suit someone looking for greater flexibility and work-life balance—whether you're returning to the workforce, seeking reduced hours from a corporate role, or looking for a more meaningful connection with your clients.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee end-to-end bookkeeping and month-end reporting for a portfolio of clients
Review and quality-check work completed by junior accountants (including reconciliations and coding)
Manage and deliver compliance obligations such as BAS, IAS, Superannuation, and Payroll
Act as the main point of contact for clients—answering ad hoc queries, resolving issues, and providing clear communication
Support the Managing Director with financial analysis, reporting, and ad hoc client needs
Ensure client satisfaction by maintaining high standards of accuracy, timeliness, and communication
Identify potential improvements in client processes and highlight opportunities for growth or efficiency
About You
Minimum 8 years of experience in bookkeeping, accounting, or financial management, ideally in a client-facing or review role.
Experience managing, mentoring or reviewing the work of junior accounting staff
CPA/CA qualification highly desirable, or significant progress towards completion
Experience using accounting software (Xero essential; experience with add-ons like Dext, Hubdoc, or Fathom is a bonus)
Strong attention to detail and ability to identify and correct errors before work is submitted to clients
Excellent communication skills—both written and verbal
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines
Confident working independently and problem-solving with initiative
A client-centric mindset with a genuine interest in helping businesses improve their financial performance
Australian citizenship, permanent residency or valid work visa required
Why Join Us?
Flexible work arrangements (part-time or full-time options available)
Autonomy to manage your workload around client needs
Exposure to a broad range of industries and growing businesses
Collaborative and supportive team culture
Opportunity to have a meaningful impact in a growing firm
