My client is one of the fastest growing FMCG scale-ups in Melbourne who already have customers based across Australia, UK and USA!
They are looking for a Supply and Inventory Planner who is ready to step into a leadership position and thrives in a dynamic and evolving environment. This position would suit someone who can juggle numerous priorities at once, and is forward thinking and innovative in their approach.
A week in the life of the Supply and Inventory Planner at this awesome organisation based in inner suburbs Melbourne (4 days on-site and 1 day WFH), would include the following:
- Own and manage the central supply plan for all markets and channels globally.
- Manage and oversee a Purchasing Officer who will be placing POs with
a network of Global 3rd Party Contract Manufacturers. - Determine optimal stock levels based on lead times, service level targets and variabilities in demand/supply.
- Accountability for safety stock: including, analysing, suggesting and managing statistical safety stock targets per sku, per country/ region in-line with working capital targets - balancing the supply and demand risk.
- Work closely with Sales and Demand Planning teams to reconcile demand forecasts with supply capabilities, highlighting potential gaps and driving scenario planning where needed.
- Continuously improve supply planning processes, tools, and reporting to enhance visibility, responsiveness, and decision-making efficiency.
- Contribute to the monthly S&OP process by providing supply insights, constraints, and recovery options, and by aligning the supply plan with business priorities.
- Optimise and manage componentry & raw materials working alongside the Sourcing & Procurement team to execute procurement and inventory movement.
- Build and maintain dashboards or reports that track key supply metrics such as inventory health, service levels, forecast adherence, and planning accuracy.
- Optimise COGs in-line with MOQs & other factors affecting manufacturing efficiency
- Owning and maintaining a production schedule and liaising with finance on cash flow management
- Excess stock and SLOB management ensuring these are raised in a timely manner with corrective actions proposed
Continuous improvement - identify opportunities to reduce waste, overproduction, or obsolescence in the supply chain. - Have a global view of total inventory in the network and optimise where the business may need to move excess to solve shortfall issues prior to ordering more into the whole network.
Preferred Requirements:
- Proven experience as an FMCG Supply Planner - used to working with contract manufacturers and managing inventory across the network
- Passion for numbers and systems - curious mindset
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder management abilities
- Desire to lead and grow team members as the company grows
