Situated in the heart of the Flinders Ranges, South Australia’s Mid North is a region rich in natural beauty, heritage towns and thriving agricultural landscapes. Our welcoming towns of Laura, Melrose and Booleroo each offer their own unique charm – from rich local history to vibrant events and welcoming locals – creating spaces where everyone feels they belong.
Our Rural Care Centres believe every child and young person deserves the foundation to thrive, and that starts with brilliant people like you! When you work with the Department for Education, you join a community more than 30,000 remarkable people - each one driven to help students unlock their potential. We work with shared purpose and welcome your unique perspective, because it’s the diversity of thought and experience that makes us strong.
We’re excited to invite pre-service teachers to join our dedicated rural care team for the remainder of 2025 and/or 2026. This is a fantastic opportunity for:
Pre-service teachers who have completed 30% of the units in an early childhood teaching qualification.
Early Childhood workers who have completed or are working towards a diploma in early childhood and care.
Why choose Us?
Work alongside like-minded colleagues - Collaborate with passionate early childhood professionals who share you dedication to unlock the potential in every child.
Enjoy a supportive work environment - Our supportive and nurturing environment gives you both the time and the tools to craft meaningful experiences.
Make a foundational impact! You’ll be there for children during a crucial stage in their development – their first five years of life.
Work in a flexible, child-centred environment that encourages creativity and innovation.
What you will do:
Contribute to the provision of a quality long day care program in a rural community.
Create a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment for children.
