Your part in The Wesley Hospital team

As the Lead Administration Officer, you’ll play a vital role in supporting the team in our Emergency Centre department, providing a tailored service through administrative support, whilst providing an exceptional level of customer service.

They facilitate service delivery and administration support to our Medical Officers, Nursing, Allied Health staff and Patients. A key focus of the role is to implement and maintain comprehensible processes that enable the timely and accurate patient admission to the Emergency Departments. This role involves overseeing day-to-day operations and ensuring that administrative procedures are followed efficiently. This role is also responsible for the quality of the preadmission and admission for patients admitting from the Emergency Centre to the hospital – this includes but not limited to Insured, Self-Funded, WorkCover, Third Party and Maternity patients.

This position is rostered on a permanent fortnightly basis, with consistent shifts repeating each cycle. As the Emergency Department provides services 24 hours a day, seven days a week, the roster incorporates a range of shifts, including mornings, evenings, nights, weekends, and public holidays. Rosters are developed with consideration of staff availability and preferences, with a focus on prioritising work-life balance. Contracted hours may range from 38 to 54 hours per fortnight, depending on the requirements of the successful applicant. Flexibility to assist with leave coverage is highly regarded.

What makes a difference for us?

Highly Desirable to have Emergency Centre Administration experience

Previous experience in a medical setting or hospital environment.

You will have previous experience in scheduling.

Experience with SAP - Desirable

Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate articulately both verbally and in written communication

Excellent time-management skills, with the ability to independently prioritise your workload

Strong attention to detail and accuracy in your day-to-day work

An ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, providing support as required

Willingness to obtain required vaccinations in line with hospitals infection control requirements
