Our Purpose
To support children, young people, and their families to build skills and capacity, address the impacts of trauma and adverse childhood experiences, and develop the capabilities to be their best selves.
Our Vision
A future where Western Australia is the safest place in the world — where all children, young people, and families feel safe to dream, thrive, and reach their fullest potential.
About the Role
Join the new Parkerville Allied Health Services as a Speech Therapist, where you’ll deliver evidence-based support to children and young people (0–18) impacted by trauma, mental health challenges and developmental needs. This is a unique opportunity to expand your impact beyond disability and grow your expertise in the mental health space.
This new, purpose-driven service has been created to remove barriers to care, including long waitlists, a shortage of specialist providers, and limited flexibility in service delivery. As an early team member, you’ll bring your expertise while helping shape a culture of support, collaboration, and learning
If this sounds like you then please apply, we want to hear from you!
What We’re Looking For
We are now seeking a passionate and committed professional to join our team who has:
• Recognised tertiary university qualifications in Speech Pathology and a current Certified Practising Member of Speech Pathology Australia (CPSP), meeting the professional standards for ongoing practice in Australia.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience delivering speech therapy to children and youth (0-18), including assessment, intervention, and therapy across clinic, community, and school-based settings.
• Experience developing individualised therapy plans that are strengths-based, engaging, and evidence informed and include goal setting and report writing (NDIS & private).
• Experience working with children who have experienced complex trauma.
• Strong collaboration skills with families, educators, and professionals; experience delivering face-to-face and telehealth services, school screenings, and workshops.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and adaptability to changing clinical demands.
• Flexibility and be responsive to client needs, including working varied hours and covering service demands as required.
This is your chance to make an impact by:
• Working within a dedicated allied health team that specialises in trauma-informed care for children and young people in out-of-home care. You’ll collaborate to identify and address developmental, social, and communication needs - carefully distinguishing between trauma-related challenges and speech-language delays
• Delivering individualised, evidence-informed interventions in both one-on-one and group settings, tailored to overcome participation barriers and support meaningful engagement.
Why Join Us?
This part-time, permanent role (0.4 FTE / 15.2 hours per week – with future possibility of FTE increase as the demand for speech therapy services grow) is based at our Midland location. Be part of shaping a new, innovative service from the ground up, while working alongside passionate colleagues who genuinely value your expertise. You will play a key role in providing consultation to the broader allied health team - sharing your insights to support trauma-informed care and strengthen interdisciplinary collaboration. For those interested, there is also the opportunity to deliver protective behaviours training, contributing to the safety, empowerment, and wellbeing of the children and families we support.
