Are you ready to lead transformation and embed a culture of strategic delivery across the University? We’re seeking a visionary and experienced Associate Director to lead our newly established Enterprise Portfolio Management Office (ePMO) within the Office of the Chief Operating Officer.
This is a unique opportunity to shape a centralised strategic delivery function that drives initiative alignment, optimises portfolio outcomes, and embeds best practice across UniSQ. Based in Toowoomba, Ipswich or Springfield, you’ll lead a high-performing team and work closely with senior executives to ensure our initiatives deliver real, measurable value.

What you’ll do
As the Associate Director (ePMO), you will:
- Establish and lead a high-performing ePMO aligned with UniSQ’s strategic charter.
- Drive initiative planning, prioritisation, and benefits realisation across the University.
- Lead the development and implementation of a strategic roadmap of initiatives in collaboration with the University Executive.
- Lead cultural change to embed project management best practice across the University.
- Provide centralised reporting and insights to track initiative performance and support executive decision making.
- Coach and influence leaders through the design and implementation of key programs and projects.
- Manage and mentor a collaborative, high-impact ePMO team.
What will help you succeed
To succeed in this role, you’ll need:
- A relevant qualification and extensive relevant experience in project management.
- Proven experience leading an Enterprise Portfolio Management Office with a large portfolio of programs and projects.
- Experience in strategic planning, portfolio optimisation and establishing the necessary frameworks, policies and procedures for an ePMO.
- Experience collaborating with senior executives to translate policy into actionable delivery plans that realise strategic intent and measurable benefits.
- Demonstrated success in leading cultural change to embed project management best practices across an organisation.
- Exceptional stakeholder engagement skills with proven ability to manage strategic and operational risks across a complex portfolio of initiatives.
- A proactive, consultative approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification will be highly regarded.

Term: Full-time continuing appointment (36 hrs/week)
Salary: Total remuneration range of $166,274 to $184,308 pa (includes salary range of $140,227 to $155,436 pa, employer superannuation contributions of 17% salary and annual leave loading)
