Your day as a Senior Cyber Security Analyst
Your typical day-to-day work will include leading and coordinating cyber security operational activities to improve Treasury’s resilience against cyber threats and vulnerabilities. The Senior Cyber Security Analyst plays a critical role in protecting the department’s digital environment by identifying and mitigating threats, managing risks, ensuring compliance with relevant standards, and collaborating across teams to enhance the overall security posture. Proactively building robust relationships and partnerships with internal and external stakeholders is paramount, as is your contribution to improving the delivery of outcomes across the Treasury through effective communication, collaboration, and advocacy with Treasury teams and agency counterparts.

What you can bring to the role
In this integral role there are a few things we would like for you to have to best support yourself and add value to the people of NSW.
The ideal candidate should meet the following criteria:
· Tertiary qualifications in Computer Science, IT, Systems Engineering, or a similar field.
· Proficient in security operations, incident response, SIEM tools, cloud security, and government security frameworks (e.g. NSW CSP, ISM), and industry frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO27001 and ISMS)
· Extensive experience in cyber security with hands-on experience in threat management, risk analysis, and relevant qualifications (certifications e.g., CISSP, CISM, CISA highly desirable).
· Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills with the ability to work independently and cross-functionally.
· Currency of knowledge and familiarity with information security and/or cyber security principles and concepts.

Eligibility
