Senior Dental Assistant / Dental Receptionist

Work Type: Part Time/Casual (3–4 days per week)
Hours: 8am–6pm

About the Role

We're looking for an experienced Senior Dental Assistant / Dental Receptionist to join our friendly, collaborative team in Essendon. This dual role is ideal for a confident, motivated team member who enjoys both the clinical and administrative sides of dentistry.

You'll work 3–4 days per week, supporting our dentist chairside and managing treatment plans, schedules, and patient communication.

Key Responsibilities

Chairside assisting for all procedures – four-handed dentistry is second nature

Manage and coordinate treatment plans and appointments

Provide exceptional front-desk customer service, including greeting, scheduling, billing and patient follow-ups, and recall management

Explain procedures, costs, and post-treatment care with clarity and empathy

Maintain clinical protocols, sterilisation, and infection control procedures

Handle payments, claims and treatment estimates confidently

About You

You're a great communicator and conversationalist who naturally builds rapport with patients and team members. You're confident, reliable, and thrive in a fast-paced, detail-driven environment.

You bring:

5+ years' experience as a Senior Dental Assistant / Receptionist or Treatment Coordinator

Certificate III or IV in Dental Assisting (preferred)

Excellence in four-handed dentistry

A great mix of clinical and reception experience

Excellent communication and multitasking skills

A mature can-do attitude

Proficiency with dental software (we use Dentally)

Ability to manage patient expectations, payment plans, and insurance claims

Availability to work 8am–6pm

Full Australian working rights (essential)
