LAUNCESTON PATHOLOGY

Status: Full time - 37.5 hours per week

Department: Specimen Reception Area

About The Role:

Monday to Friday shifts (0700 - 2030) with participation in a weekend roster

Data entry of pathology request forms using laboratory application software

Sample handling and preparation for analysis for all sample types

Answering phone enquiries, emails and in person enquiries

Courier services with report delivery and sample pickup as required

Maintain laboratory workplace safety

Apply quality systems and continuous improvement processes

Compliance with OH&S standards

Other administrative tasks as directed

Selection Criteria:

Although not essential, previous laboratory experience will be considered an advantage

A keen eye for detail and exceptional accuracy in data transfer operations

Well developed general administrative skills and computer literacy skills

Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal

Ability to act independently within established laboratory protocols demonstrating sound analytical judgement

An unrestricted Australian drivers licence

An understanding of and commitment to privacy and confidentiality requirements in a medical setting
