Field Service Technician – Heavy Equipment

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Field Service Technician to join our team in Sydney. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing a range of heavy equipment including earthmoving machinery, telehandlers, and other construction equipment. The ideal candidate will have post-trade qualifications and a minimum of 3 years’ experience in the heavy equipment sector.

You will work directly with our clients across a variety of industries, ensuring their equipment is maintained to the highest standard and minimizing downtime.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform on-site diagnostics, maintenance, and repair of heavy equipment

Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and electronic systems

Provide technical support to customers and liaise with the service team

Maintain accurate service records and documentation

Manage and maintain service tools, equipment, and stock levels

Ensure all work complies with safety regulations and company policies

Drive high levels of customer satisfaction through quality service and technical expertise

Essential Requirements:

Trade qualification in Mechanical, Diesel Fitting, or related field

Minimum 3+ years post-trade experience in servicing heavy equipment, including earthmoving, construction, or mining machinery

Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

Excellent communication and customer service skills

Ability to work independently and efficiently in the field

Valid Australian driver’s licence

Australian Citizenship or Permanent Residency (essential for application)
