Representing our client, Mérieux NutriSciences AQ (formerly BVAQ), we are seeking to appoint a permanent Chemistry Analyst III.

The role is directly responsible for conducting a wide range of routine, specialised, and complex analytical tests, including those involving atypical samples and instrumentation with diverse operating variables. The successful candidate will bring a thorough understanding of analytical methods, underpinning scientific principles, laboratory systems, and procedures to enable effective problem solving and troubleshooting in a dynamic laboratory environment.

Specific Responsibilities:

Carry out a variety of tests according to SOPs and methods, ensuring accurate processing and verification of results.

Perform analytical tests using a range of instrumentation and equipment, demonstrating flexibility across different platforms.

Assist with routine calibration and maintenance of laboratory instruments.

Prioritise workload effectively to meet daily testing deadlines.

Process and report test results using laboratory application software.

Contribute to the application of the quality system and continuous improvement initiatives.

Maintain safe working practices in line with OHS requirements.

Undertake other duties as required, aligned with competence and capability.

Relevant Education/Qualifications and Experience:

Demonstrated experience working in a chemistry laboratory .

Experience with GC and HPLC is highly regarded but not mandatory.

Ability to conduct complex sample preparation across a variety of matrices.

Strong understanding of chemistry principles, instrumentation, and analytical techniques, with capability for basic troubleshooting and problem solving.

Tertiary qualification in Chemistry or a related scientific discipline.

Familiarity with Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) is desirable.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong reporting capability.

Proven ability to work effectively within a team-based laboratory environment.

Demonstrated knowledge of OHS requirements and commitment to safe laboratory practices.

Strong customer service orientation and collaborative approach.
