The Role

• Prepare initial cost estimates for construction tenders or bids.
• Analyse project documents, including blueprints and specifications, to determine requirements.
• Procure and negotiate contracts with suppliers and subcontractors.
• Monitor costs during construction to keep projects on budget.
• Provide cost comparisons, identify cost-saving opportunities, and advise on project feasibility.

The Criteria

• Tertiary qualification in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or related field
• 2-5 years of quantity surveyor or estimating experience, ideally in residential construction.
• Strong numeracy and analytical skills
• Attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
• Display the confidence to go for it, make mistakes and learn from them
