Digital Designer

MAYDAY is looking for a creative and enthusiastic Freelance Digital Designer to help bring campaigns, templates, and editorial content to life, ensuring every piece stays on-brand.

In this role, you’ll collaborate with Senior Designers, copywriters, and a variety of teams, gaining hands-on experience across multiple channels. You’ll have the freedom to contribute ideas, take ownership of your work, and learn from talented creatives in a fun, flexible environment that values creativity, celebrates wins big and small, and encourages growth.

Role Details

• Start Date: ASAP
• End Date: Mid-November
• Location: Bondi Junction, Sydney (moving into a brand-new office later in September – an inspiring space to work in!)
• Commitment: Part-time, 2–3 days per week
• Contractor Day Rate: $650/day (ABN required)
• Hours: Flexible – typically 8am–4pm or 10am–6pm, with the flexibility to adjust as long as work is delivered

Key Responsibilities

• Roll out campaign assets, templates, and editorial content across digital channels (emails, social media, LinkedIn, etc.).
• Refresh and maintain creative templates for new product releases, rebrands, and feature drops.
• Ensure all design work aligns with comprehensive brand guidelines, maintaining consistency across all assets.
• Work in Figma and Adobe Creative Suite to deliver pixel-perfect designs with attention to detail in labelling, spacing, weighting, and padding.
• Source and edit images to ensure visuals are polished, engaging, and on-brand.
• Contribute to exciting projects, including the launch of a clothing line and a company-wide rebrand.
• Take ownership of assigned design projects while supporting the wider creative team.

Requirements

• Proven experience in creative/design roles; advertising or creative agency background preferred.
• Strong proficiency in Figma (must-have) and Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign).
• Exceptional attention to detail and ability to deliver polished, brand-consistent work.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to interpret briefs efficiently.
• Portfolio showcasing a variety of digital design projects (links to recent work required).
• Experience with investment/finance brands is a bonus but not essential.
• Positive attitude, collaborative nature, and openness to feedback.
