The Gold Industry Group (GIG) is a member-based, not-for-profit industry association representing Australia’s gold producers, explorers, and suppliers. We drive initiatives that build community trust, celebrate our industry's contributions, and shape the future workforce through nationwide education, careers, and social impact programs.

We’re looking for a Digital Marketing Assistant to bring our brand to life online and help amplify the voices and stories of Australia’s gold industry.

About the Role

Working closely with our Marketing and Communications Manager and CEO, you will support the execution of GIG’s digital presence across web, email, and social platforms, and support strategic campaigns, activations and events.

This is a broad and hands-on role for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, purpose-driven environment where creativity, autonomy and initiative are valued.

Key Responsibilities

Coordinate and schedule social media content across LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube and X

Draft and publish digital content, including EDMs (via Active Campaign), blog posts, and campaign landing pages

Support the management of our websites (WordPress) and ensure content is current and engaging

Monitor digital performance across platforms (Google Analytics, Meta Insights, etc.), prepare regular reports and suggest optimisations

Write content across a range of platforms and mediums

Plan national campaigns and programs across education, careers, community, ESG, netball and events

Liaise with members and partners to coordinate digital exposure and co-branded content

Help activate live events and PR moments, capturing content for social and digital

Maintain digital asset libraries and ensure consistent branding

Support team-wide marketing needs as required

About You

You’re digitally-savvy, a strong communicator, and thrive in a dynamic and collaborative team. You have a solid foundation in digital marketing and are confident coordinating multiple projects at once.

You’ll also bring:

Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field

1–3 years’ experience in a digital marketing, content, or communications role

Strong knowledge of social media platforms and scheduling tools (e.g. Meta Business Suite, SproutSocial)

Experience using CMS (WordPress preferred) and email marketing platforms (e.g. Active Campaign)

A good eye for layout and design – Canva and/or Adobe Creative Suite a bonus

Basic understanding of SEO and analytics tools (Google Analytics, Meta Insights)

Strong writing skills

Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail

A can-do attitude, team spirit, and the ability to adapt quickly
