About the Role

This full-time position is ideal for a skilled operator who takes pride in their work and thrives in a team-focused, safety-conscious environment.

You will be working on tier 1 civil construction projects, operating a variety of modern excavators between 5-48 tonnes. Your primary responsibilities will include detailed excavation, trenching, final trimming, and general earthworks using GPS systems to ensure the highest accuracy.

You will play an integral role in the successful and timely delivery of the project while upholding our company's values and maintaining the highest standard of site safety and presentation.

Key Responsibilities

• Safely and competently operate a range of excavators (5T–48T) to complete earthmoving tasks.

• Interpret and execute construction drawings, levels, and site instructions with accuracy.

• Use GPS technology to achieve millimetre-accurate final trims and grading.

• Perform general site duties including trenching, backfilling, and rock breaking as required.

• Liaise effectively with site supervisors, engineers, and ground crew to meet daily targets.

• Complete daily pre-start checks and ensure machinery is in good working order at all times.

• Promptly report mechanical issues, safety concerns, or potential hazards to our management and administration team.

• Maintain a clean, organised work zone and contribute to a safety-first site culture.

• Attend daily toolbox talks, pre-start briefings on time, and contribute constructively to team discussions.

• Adhere to all safety policies and procedures to maintain a safe working environment.

Essential Requirements

• Minimum 5 years' continuous experience operating excavators on civil infrastructure or bulk earthworks projects

• Demonstrated proficiency using GPS machine guidance systems.

• Hold valid (SOAs) excavator operating tickets, verification of competencies (VOCs), and White Card.

• Strong ability to read and understand engineering drawings and site set-out

• Excellent knowledge of site safety practices and WHS legislative compliance.

• High level of personal presentation and a positive, can-do attitude.

• Physically fit and capable of working extended hours in varying outdoor conditions.

• Preparedness to work additional hours including Saturdays when required.

• Willing to undertake a Pre-Employment medical including Fit testing, Drug and Alcohol Screening.
