Practice Lead for CALD Services
About the Role
The Practice Lead will oversee a range of programs and services supporting culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) communities. These programs include mental health, alcohol and other drugs (AOD), and other community support services.
This senior role provides leadership and supervision to Program Team Leaders and is responsible for the effective day-to-day operations of services. The Practice Lead will ensure program delivery meets funding requirements, reporting obligations, and aligns with evidence-based and best practice standards.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Support: Provide high-level advice and report to the Executive Manager in planning and decision-making.
Program Oversight: Lead and manage the delivery of government and partner-funded programs, ensuring quality outcomes.
Staff Leadership: Supervise, mentor, and develop Team Leaders to build capability and maintain strong performance.
Community Engagement: Strengthen connections with CALD communities to ensure services are culturally safe and responsive.
Stakeholder Engagement: Represent CAASSA with professionalism, building and maintaining strong partnerships with key stakeholders.
Risk Management: Lead risk identification, assessment, and implementation of strategies to mitigate risks in service delivery.
Compliance & Reporting: Maintain accurate records, reporting, and resources in line with CAASSA policies, procedures, and funding body requirements.
About You
Demonstrated experience in program leadership within the health, community, or social services sector.
Strong understanding of issues impacting CALD communities.
Proven ability to lead, mentor, and develop staff.
Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
Ability to manage compliance, reporting, and risk management processes.
Qualification/s:
Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Counselling, Psychology or other relevant fields
Experience:
Demonstrated leadership experience in a community or human services context
Strong interpersonal, organisational and team development skills
Proven ability in planning, service design and program evaluation
Understand and apply best practice approaches in mental health, AOD and comorbidity issues
Work with CALD clients/ communities
Essential criteria : Current Australian Drivers Licence; Child Safe Environment Training and Work with Children Check
