About the Role

We are seeking a Disability Support Worker to join our team at YH Support, providing high-quality support and assistance to individuals with disabilities in the Auburn and Lidcombe areas of NSW.

This is a casual position, with typical shifts of 2–3 hours in duration. The primary responsibility will be supporting a participant on the autism spectrum with school drop-offs, generally between 8:30 am and 10:30 am.

What you'll be doing

Providing personalised care and support to clients with a range of disabilities, including assisting with daily living activities, personal care, and community engagement

Advocating for client needs and ensuring their rights and choices are respected

Developing and implementing personalised support plans in collaboration with clients and their families

Facilitating social, recreational, and educational activities to promote clients' independence, health, and wellbeing

Maintaining accurate case notes and records in accordance with organisational policies and procedures

Collaborating with other healthcare professionals to ensure the delivery of high-quality, integrated support

What we're looking for

Previous experience in a similar disability support or community services role, preferably in a casual or flexible capacity

A Certificate III or IV in Disability, Community Services, or a related field

Demonstrated understanding of the principles of person-centred care and the ability to tailor support to individual needs

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and work collaboratively with clients, families, and colleagues

A passion for empowering individuals with disabilities and a commitment to promoting their independence and inclusion in the community

A current First Aid certificate and a valid driver's licence
