About the Role
As the Transport Engineer, you will:
Assess and approve Construction Traffic Management Plans, Works Zones, and road occupancy applications, ensuring safety and compliance with standards and policies.
Deliver transport and traffic projects including Local Area Traffic Management Plans, Pedestrian Access and Mobility Plans, and active transport initiatives.
Investigate community requests, conduct technical assessments, and recommend improvements to enhance road network safety and efficiency.
Prepare reports and proposals for the Local Traffic Committee and implement actions arising from committee recommendations.
Provide expert technical advice on traffic engineering, transport planning, development applications, and road safety programs.
Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to resolve issues, manage consultant engagements, and deliver quality transport outcomes.
What You’ll Bring
Degree in Traffic Engineering or equivalent and/or significant relevant experience in design and delivery of parking management, active transport and traffic management projects
Sound knowledge of contemporary transport design and creating a safe, connected and accessible transport system within a multi-modal urban transport system
Proven experience in parking management and transport projects, balancing complex issues and competing priorities
Demonstrated ability to work in teams and communicate effectively with the community, stakeholders, staff, industry and other government organisations
A high level of verbal and written communication skills in the preparation of reports, plans and projects and responding to community issues
