THE OPPORTUNITY:

Steelbro is currently seeking an experienced Heavy Vehicle Mechanic (Side Loader Mechanic) to service and repair mainly sideloaders to our local customer base located at the STEELBRO Service Centre located at Bankstown NSW. This role is a Mon-Fri role and straight day shift only.

Its envisioned that the successful candidate will have a strong automotive background and customer care background, have an eye of detail, a strong safety focus and enjoy working and contributing to a small team.

Priorities and tasks include:

Carry out the servicing and maintaining or our local and interstate customers on sideloader repairs and service,

Carry out repairs on sold equipment in workshop or occasionally nearby site (if required) to minimise customer fleet interruptions,

Identify defects in a timely manner and taking necessary action to control and repair,

Assist with scheduling of jobs and may assist with parts sourcing,

Ensuring service and mechanical repairs are documented/recorded in internal systems and comply with statutory inspections and company requirements/standards,

Preferred skills include:

Able to identify and repair basic Mechanical faults in heavy equipment (sideloaders),

Previous experience in automotive and/or transport solutions workshop (repairs),

Good knowledge of mechanical equipment and terminology,

Willing to undergo a pre-employment medical

Desirable but not essential:

A trade qualifications (Mechanical or similar),

Experience and understanding of various computer systems,

Customer service and sales experience - new customers,
