Applications are invited for a full-time Multi-Disciplinary Scientist to join our Ipswich laboratory, part of the Greenslopes Group within the Brisbane Hospitals Group.
Our laboratory services St Andrews Ipswich Private Hospital, urgent community work from nearby collection rooms, and the Lockyer Valley. With operating hours currently spanning 05:00 – 00:00 (including weekends and public holidays), we are preparing to expand into a 24-hour service making this an exciting time to join our dedicated and growing team.
Key Responsibilities
Perform a range of diagnostic medical laboratory techniques across Haematology, Blood Bank, Microbiology and Biochemistry.
Conduct all tasks relevant to specific shifts and laboratory sections in accordance with corporate and local procedures.
Uphold quality standards through strict adherence to quality system procedures.
Ensure compliance with occupational health and safety requirements.
Deliver reliable and efficient service levels to both internal and external customers.
Train, mentor, and support other staff as required.
Maintain ongoing professional development through education and scientific engagement.
Contribute to laboratory and organisational goals through special projects or initiatives as required.
What we are looking for
A degree in Science, Applied Science, or Medical Technology from a recognised Australian tertiary institution, or equivalent qualifications (as recognised by AIMS).
Relevant experience in a pathology laboratory, with multidisciplinary experience highly desirable.
Previous experience in Haematology, Blood Bank, Microbiology, or Biochemistry will be highly regarded.
Strong theoretical knowledge and practical expertise in laboratory testing, quality assurance, and staff training.
Commitment to excellent customer service and patient care.
