Our client is seeking an experienced General Manager to take charge on-site. This vital leadership position includes driving initiatives, ensuring compliance, and managing the efficient production and distribution of quality products. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in leading diverse teams, focusing on process improvement, system optimization, and integrity, while fostering clear and open communication with all staff.

This role plays a key part in the company's success, with your KPIs being evaluated based on the following criteria: -

People Management – focusing on retention, training, fostering culture, enhancing productivity, and ensuring accountability.

Sales Management - As an integral part of the leadership team, you will develop and implement commercial strategies, foster high-value customer relationships, and drive the scaling of sales operations. You will oversee a small sales team, secure long-term agreements and identifying emerging market opportunities.

Safety Metrics – you'll collaborate with the HSE coordinator to handle compliance requirements, track safety statistics, and ensure reporting standards are consistently met.

Product Quality – overseeing stock management to prevent deterioration and minimize customer rejections.

Maintenance – handling preventative maintenance and addressing defects effectively.

Customer Service – ensuring loads are coordinated for DIFOT (Delivery in Full, On Time).

General Housekeeping – maintaining cleanliness and organization.

Wage and Expense Control – managing wages and general expenses efficiently.

Mandatory - Before applying please make sure you have the following.

Undertaken qualification in Engineering, Business, Sales

or Supply Chain or equivalent Timber industry relevant manufacturing experience

A background in working with timber products, such as Specification Industry, EWP, truss and frame, architectural timber products, or manufacturing

Demonstrated expertise in production management, warehousing, logistics, and distribution

Personal Attributes:

Ability to operate independently and take ownership of the business.
