About the role
In this role, you will manage Council facility leases from negotiation to compliance, oversee day-to-day property matters such as renewals and reviews, and provide clear advice to stakeholders. You will also maintain accurate records, conduct inspections, and build strong relationships to ensure a customer-focused and efficient leasing service.
Work type: Permanent full time
Classification: Band 6 Commencing at $95,760 pa plus super
Key responsibilities include:
- Manage the implementation of tenure arrangements of Council facilities through negotiation and collaboration with tenants and/or licensees.
- Prepare appropriate tenure documents ensuring compliance with Council policy and legislative requirements.
- Provide advice to Service Managers on tenancy compliance with tenure documents and Council policy.
- Contribute to the strategic review of the property portfolio to enable responsible management of Council facilities.
- Follow up outstanding lease issues, documentation including assisting internal stakeholders with complex liaison issues and attendance of meetings as required.
- Contribute to the effective and customer focused team, operating with a strong customer and commercial focus.
About you
To be successful in this role, you will have previous experience in a property and/or leasing environment, with the ability to identify inconsistencies and negotiate terms of tenure agreements. A Certificate or Diploma in property or administration will be highly regarded, along with strong skills in compliance, documentation, and stakeholder collaboration.
Essential Experience:
- Excellent time management, communication, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work with a broad range of external stakeholders, including landlords, tenants, community groups and legal representatives.
- An ability to prepare and manage appropriate tenure documents.
- Knowledge and working experience in the application of Crown Land legislation, Retail Leases legislation and statutory compliance is desirable.
- Preferred candidates will be required to undergo a National Police Check as part of the recruitment process (funded by the City).
