The Role
As an Information Officer, you Information Officer provides customer services and support to people contacting the free helpline service - the TAFE and Training Line - for advice on their education and training options including:
- Providing responsive customer service via telephone and email
- Providing current and accurate information and advice to the public about skills, training and post-secondary pathways and training options in Victoria
- Handling enquiries and complaints using TAFE and Training Line systems and engagement tools
- Working collaboratively as part of a small service delivery team Ensuring continuous improvement in services provided to the public

Key accountabilities include:
- Strategically support and lead strategy and policy work relating to Whole-of-Victorian-Government strategic policy projects.
- Advise on policy settings to support the efficient and effective operation of Skills and TAFE sector.
- Provide high level strategic advice with a long-term view that supports the government to future-proof key policy settings for the training and higher education sectors.
- Manage the preparation of Cabinet submissions, complex briefs, correspondence, and reports
- Manage relationships with central agencies and stakeholders across the Department of Jobs, Skills, Industry and Regions and other departments to inform policy development and implementation.
The Team
The position of Information Officer will work across Engagement branch, which sits within Victorian Skills Authority group.
The Victorian Skills Authority (VSA) provides evidence-based planning and solutions to meet current and future skills needs in Victoria. We are an administrative office led by a chief executive officer and supported by an advisory board of key stakeholders.
We report directly to the Minister for Skills and TAFE and work closely with the Office of TAFE Coordination and Delivery and the Skills and Employment Group within DJSIR.
Our role is to gather and analyse industry data, identify where there are current and emerging skills shortages in Victoria's workforce and work with stakeholders to develop strategies to fill these gaps.

- Teamwork: Accommodates and works well with the different working styles of others; collaborates and shares information; cooperates and works well with others in the pursuit of team goals; encourages resolution of conflict within group; and shows consideration, concern and respect for others' feelings and ideas.
