In this role, you will contribute to the completion of business-as-usual tasks to facilitate efficient and effective monthly, quarterly, and annual processes and reporting, ensuring all tasks are completed accurately and in accordance with demanding timescales. This includes contributing to maintaining the integrity of the general ledger, as well as providing professional guidance to other teams within the Department when identifying and resolving emerging financial accounting issues.
About you
We are searching for someone with:
- Demonstrated high-level working knowledge of, and recent experience in, the practical application of Australian Accounting Standards, Financial Reporting Requirements for Queensland Government Agencies, legislation, contemporary financial management practices and policies.
- Demonstrated experience in assisting in the preparation of comprehensive and well-rounded advice to management and other stakeholders and in assisting with the development of policies, procedures, and reporting mechanisms.
- Demonstrated involvement and success in the contribution to continuous improvement programs and initiatives in the areas of operational financial accounting, with demonstrated ability to work within and thrive in successful teams.
- Demonstrated experience in the proficient use of contemporary financial management information technology, together with experience in the research, review, interpretation, and analysis of information to assist in formulating recommendations and reports to management.
- Demonstrates high level communication, interpersonal, negotiation and presentation skills, with proven experience collaborating with other team members.
- Demonstrates ability to successfully deliver, to a high standard, a range of activities and projects within tight and conflicting timeframes and deadlines.
- Demonstrates autonomy and flexibility in response to change and supports the workforce to embrace new expectations through clarity of the intended outcomes.
