ADEC is dedicated to providing exceptional care and support to individuals with Disability and Aged Care participants. We are currently seeking compassionate and qualified Support Workers to join our team providing support to our participants at Melbourne's Northern, Eastern and Southeastern locations. Our mission is to enhance the quality of life for our participants through dedicated and personalised care.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
Assist clients with personal care, including showering, dressing, and grooming.
Help participants with Indicative but not exclusive tasks include: the undertaking of semi-skilled work, including cleaning, vacuuming, dusting, washing and ironing, shopping, sweeping paths, minor maintenance jobs, preparation and cooking of meals, defrosting refrigerators, emptying and cleaning of commodes, banking and account payment, organising appointments, assistance with care of pets, and care of indoor and outdoor pot plants.
Engage clients in social and recreational activities to promote independence and wellbeing.
Provide transportation assistance to appointments and community outings.
Maintain detailed client records and communicate effectively with the multidisciplinary team.
Advocate for clients' needs and ensure their rights are upheld.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
Relevant qualifications such as a Certificate III in Individual Support (Aging and Disability) or Community Services and experience ideally in the home care environment.
Fluency in Greek, Italian, Maltese, Burmese, Arabic or Turkish languages in addition to English.
Understanding of the unique cultural needs and preferences of the client communities
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Compassionate, patient, and adaptable approach to supporting clients.
Current First Aid certification, Car and a valid driver's licence.

AWARD AND CLASSIFICATION:
All ADEC employees are employed under the terms, conditions and entitlements of the Modern Award – Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award 2010 (the Award); and the National Employment Standards (NES). Pay Rate is negotiable based on qualifications and experience.

MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS:
Current CPR / First Aid Certificate (or willing to get)
Current Federal Police Check
Current Australian Driver’s Licence
Reliable, registered and insured vehicle (comprehensive insurance is preferred)
Smartphone with internet access
NDIS workers screening check
Completion of NDIS Worker Induction Modules/Infection Control module
Valid Working With Children Check
Proof of Covid-19 Vaccination
Must have evidence of right to work in Australia.
Second Language: Greek, Italian, Maltese, Burmese, Arabic or Turkish (ONLY)
