Roles and Responsibilities:

Fault Detection and Diagnosis: Identify and diagnose mechanical and electrical faults in engines and vehicle components, using both manual inspection and computer-assisted diagnostic tools.

Engine and Component Repair: Dismantle, remove, and repair engine assemblies, transmissions, suspension systems, steering mechanisms, brakes, and other critical components, following service manuals as needed.

Parts Replacement: Repair or replace worn-out or defective parts, ensuring reassembled components function correctly and safely.

Scheduled Maintenance: Perform routine vehicle maintenance such as oil changes, lubrication, and engine tune-ups to optimise vehicle performance and ensure compliance with emission and pollution regulations.

Reassembly of Components: Reassemble engines, mechanical parts, and other components after repair, ensuring all systems meet required performance standards.

Testing and Adjustment: Test and adjust mechanical and electrical systems after repairs to confirm correct performance and safety.

Roadworthiness and Breakdown Response: Where required, inspect vehicles to issue roadworthiness certificates or detail the work necessary to achieve roadworthiness, and respond to vehicle breakdown service calls.

Qualifications and Experience:
• Certificate III or IV in Automotive Mechanical Technology (or equivalent).
• Minimum 1 years of experience as a motor mechanic or in the related field.
• Proven knowledge in engine diagnostics, vehicle repair, and maintenance.
• Ability to use computer-assisted diagnostic equipment.
