MHNSW is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical professional to analyse operational data, identify service trends, and enhance business tools. In this dynamic role, you’ll define detailed requirements, troubleshoot system issues, and contribute to strategic decision-making through data-driven analysis across a range of business platforms.

Clerk Grade 5/6. Remuneration package includes salary ($99,938 - $110,271), employer's contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading.

Museums of History NSW brings together a portfolio of iconic museums, rich collections and heritage sites, the nation’s oldest archive collection, vital recordkeeping services and expert staff.
We bring history to life by sharing the stories of our places and collections. Through the State Archives Collection, we manage NSW’s official documentary heritage, supporting government transparency and the public’s right to access information.
These two roles do not just sit side by side – they inform and enrich each other. By preserving and making accessible our places, collections and archives, we create opportunities for people to explore the past and better understand their own place in the world. Museums of History NSW is a state cultural institution, established under the Museums of History NSW Act 2022. It is an agency of the NSW Department of Creative Industries, Tourism, Hospitality and Sport (DCITHS).
What you'll do with us:
This role will undertake analysis and support of MHNSW operational data needs to capture and report on trends, KPI performance and opportunities and respond to issues and risks using a variety of platforms and solutions.

What you need to do to apply
To apply you will need to submit the following:
A one to two page cover letter outlining how your skills and experiences meet the essential requirements for this role.
A current resume listing two referees, and
Respond to the 2 targeted questions (no more than 300 words per answer). Your responses to the targeted questions should be submitted online during your application and not included in the covering letter.
What you need to tell us - Targeted questions:
1. Provide an example that demonstrates your experience supporting larger digitisation processing teams in a bureau (or similar) of 15+ team members while ensuring operational KPIs, data quality needs were met.
2. Describe an example where you have had to address complex problems or issues with multiple interdependencies across different business area’s while seeking to drive improvements and efficiency gains in business processes.
Essential requirements of the role:
Knowledge of and experience working with RS-SQL O’Neil Software (or similar) including creating appropriate system queries, amending and/or exporting system data through data connections.
Proven track record providing technical support for large high-speed Kodak (or similar) based digitisation bureau, information processing, and logistics environments.
Experience using business analysis reporting tools to identify on-demand and workload and transaction volume trends through dashboard type solutions.
Proven experience and knowledge in relation to government data/information privacy and security requirements particularly connecting to business processes and systems analysis, design, support to requirements specification and operational solutions.
Willingness to participate in rosters depending on operational requirements with the ability to participate in after-hours call roster, including attending to call outs.
Possess a current WWCC and have the ability to obtain a baseline security clearance within 6 months of request.
