About the Role:
We’re now seeking a Group Accountant to join our expanding team in Brisbane. This is a newly created position, offering the opportunity to shape financial processes and drive best practice across multiple entities. The Group Accountant is responsible for financial integrity and reporting accuracy across multiple entities within the group. This role will oversee consolidated financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, statutory compliance, and internal controls. The position requires strong technical accounting skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage financial performance and reporting obligations across diverse community service sectors. Your key responsibilities will include:
Lead group financial reporting, consolidations, and performance analysis across entities.
Oversee month-end close, reconciliations, fixed assets, and lease accounting.
Ensure compliance with statutory reporting obligations (BAS, FBT, Payroll Tax, QLeave, audit, AASB standards).
Drive budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis to support strategic decisions.
Manage cash flow forecasting, treasury, and intercompany transactions.
Build and enhance internal controls, systems, and reporting frameworks.
Partner with leadership and operational teams to provide financial insights and support.
About You
You’re not just a technically strong accountant; you’re a builder of systems and processes. You thrive on challenges, embrace change, and see opportunities for improvement where others see complexity.
To succeed in this role, you will ideally have:
CA/CPA qualified.
Solid experience in financial accounting, consolidations, and compliance.
Strong knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards (including AASB 16).
Experience in multi-entity environments and community services (highly regarded).
Excellent communication skills and the ability to partner with stakeholders.
A proactive mindset, driven to improve, implement, and innovate.
Qualifications/Requirements:
Relevant degree in Accounting or Commerce coupled with extensive experience in a similar role
CPA/CA qualified
Current Police Check (Or willingness to obtain)
Working with Children Check (Blue Card)
Full working rights in Australia
Ability to obtain LCS Clearance
