Robert Half is currently partnering with a local government organisation based in the Eastern Suburbs to recruit an experienced Senior Financial Accountant for a 3-month contract to support with year-end financial preparation.

**Please not this role is looking to start ASAP so you must be immediately available to be considered for this role**

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare year-end financial statements from trial balance, including detailed note disclosures.
• Take the lead on best practice financial reporting, including creating schedules, conducting reconciliations, and ensuring compliance.
• Leverage your existing audit background experience (preferably at Associate Director level or higher) to drive audit-ready financial processes.
• Utilize your extensive expertise in financial modelling to support decision-making and analysis.
• Act as a trusted liaison with external auditors to ensure smooth and accurate auditing processes.
• Bring your familiarity with local government operations (preferred but not mandatory) to streamline workflows and procedures.

About You:

• CA/CPA Qualified
• Proven track record of success in high-level financial reporting or audit roles, ideally coming from a Big4/Mid-tier background.
• Exceptionally detail-oriented, organized, and analytical in your approach to financial reporting and reconciliations.
• Local government experience is a bonus, but having expertise in applying leading reporting practices is key.
