Bedingfeld Park is a community owned, not for profit nursing home, providing accommodation and nursing care for the older people in the Peel Region. Located on the banks of the Murray River in Pinjarra dedicated to delivering excellent service to our residents and creating a welcoming environment for all visitors.

Position Overview:

The Registered Nurse (RN) in Aged Care is responsible for delivering high-quality nursing care to elderly residents in accordance with professional standards, aged care legislation, and the facility’s policies. The RN works collaboratively with care staff, allied health professionals, and families to ensure optimal outcomes for residents.

Key Responsibilities:

Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualised care plans for residents.

Administer medications and treatments in accordance with AHPRA standards and facility procedures.

Monitor and document residents’ health status and report any changes to relevant healthcare professionals.

Supervise and support Enrolled Nurses (ENs) and Personal Care Assistants (PCAs).

Ensure accurate and timely documentation using clinical management systems (e.g., Ecase, MPS, Diamondcare).

Promote a safe, clean, and supportive environment for residents, families, and staff.

Liaise with doctors, allied health professionals, and families regarding residents’ care.

Provide leadership during shifts, including managing emergencies and clinical decision-making.

Ensure compliance with the Aged Care Quality Standards.

Participate in audits, quality improvement initiatives, and staff training.

Qualifications & Requirements:

Current registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse.

Previous experience in aged care nursing (preferred).

Sound knowledge of the Aged Care Quality Standards and accreditation processes.

Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills.

Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership abilities.

Current police check and up-to-date immunisations (e.g., Influenza).

Ability to work various shifts- AM, PM and Nightshift and willingness to pick up shifts.

Desirable Skills:

Experience with palliative care and dementia care.

Proficiency in using electronic clinical systems.

Understanding of cultural competence in aged care settings.

Effective communication skills and teamwork.
