For more than 30 years, Junction Support Services has been working with individuals and families across north-east Victoria and beyond. We deliver over 60 programs across youth homelessness, family services, counselling, community wellbeing, and social enterprise.
Our Corporate Services team plays a vital role in enabling this work — ensuring our organisation operates with efficiency, integrity, and innovation.
About the Role
The People & Culture Advisor is a pivotal role in supporting and enhancing the employee experience across the full employee lifecycle. You’ll be hands-on across recruitment, onboarding, retention, wellbeing, training and development, and employee relations — helping shape a workplace where people thrive.
A key focus of this role will be supporting the implementation and utilisation of a new Human Resources Information System (HRIS), enabling smarter, more efficient and impactful HR processes.
You’ll be part of our Corporate Services team, working collaboratively to build a positive, inclusive, and high-performing workplace culture aligned with our mission to strengthen communities.
Key Responsibilities
Provide timely and professional advice and support across all aspects of the employee lifecycle.
Lead and support recruitment and onboarding processes, ensuring alignment with organisational values and workforce needs.
Coordinate and contribute to induction, training, and development initiatives.
Support employee wellbeing and engagement strategies.
Assist in managing employee relations matters, including performance management and conflict resolution.
Maintain accurate and confidential employee records and documentation.
Play a key role in the implementation and ongoing utilisation of the HRIS, including data integrity, reporting, and user support.
Collaborate with Payroll, Rostering, and other Corporate Services functions to ensure seamless HR operations.
Contribute to continuous improvement of HR policies, procedures, and practices.
Support compliance with relevant legislation, awards, and organisational policies.
Selection Criteria (must be addressed in your application)
Relevant Qualifications: Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources, Business, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
Generalist HR Experience: Demonstrated experience in a broad HR role, ideally within a values-driven or community-focused organisation.
HR Knowledge & Systems: Strong understanding of HR practices across the employee lifecycle, with experience using HRIS platforms to support operations.
Communication & Collaboration: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trust and work effectively across diverse teams.
Legislative & Compliance Knowledge: Sound understanding of employment legislation, industrial relations frameworks, and organisational compliance requirements.
