Our client, a leading mining and resources company, is seeking an experienced Senior High Voltage Electrical Engineer to take on a leadership role. This permanent position is based in the South West of WA on a family-friendly 5:2 roster and offers either residential or DIDO options.

The Role:
As the Senior HV Electrical Engineer or Electrician, you will be responsible for the safe and compliant operation of high voltage electrical infrastructure across site. You will hold statutory responsibilities as the appointed Electrical Supervisor/Electrical Nominee and provide leadership and technical expertise to ensure maximum reliability, performance, and compliance of all HV systems and assets.

Key Responsibilities:

Supervise the installation, testing, and maintenance of HV electrical equipment across site.

Act as the Statutory Electrical Supervisor/Electrical Nominee in line with regulatory requirements.

Provide technical leadership and support to internal teams and contractors.

Develop and implement preventative maintenance strategies for HV assets.

Ensure compliance with electrical standards, codes, and WHS legislation.

Prepare statutory reports and manage incident notifications.

Support maintenance budgets, capital planning, and forecasting.

Lead continuous improvement through asset performance reviews and lean maintenance.

Oversee scheduling and planning in collaboration with maintenance teams.

Act in the role of Electrical Superintendent when required.

What You’ll Need:

Degree in Electrical Engineering or relevant trade.

10+ years’ experience ideally within high voltage environments.

Strong knowledge of HV transmission and distribution networks, including fault rectification.

Proficiency with PLC, SCADA (Citect), and field instrumentation.

Certificate IV in Leadership & Management (desirable).

HV Switching Operators Certificate.

Current C Class Driver’s Licence.

First Aid, LVR/CPR, and S26 training.

Eligible for appointment as Electrical Supervisor under WA WHS (Mines) legislation.

Electrical Nominee certification (highly regarded).
