Your Opportunity
As the Senior Infrastructure Services Officer, you will:
- Provide support to the Manager, Asbestos and Projects, through the provision of procedural advice to multiple stakeholders across a range of infrastructure safety issues, whilst demonstrating professionalism and empathy in all interactions.
- Develop and maintain productive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders to deliver tailored infrastructure, planning and asset management safety solutions, aligned to departmental and whole of government priorities and expected outcomes.
- Support other team members with the management of complex asbestos-related incidents at facilities, including support with incident investigations.
- Facilitate the delivery of the Asbestos Audit Program for the Department of Education, conducted by QBuild.
- Collect, validate and analyse data to support Infrastructure Safety with the identification of trends, patterns and areas for improvement. Maintain responsibility for data integrity, including adherence to audit requirements and data reporting standards.
- Assist in the preparation of information, reports, submissions, briefing materials, correspondence, support documents and templates, as required.
- Support the delivery of body of work focused on continuous improvement of operational excellence, through streamlined processes, data analysis and actionable insights.
The Senior Infrastructure Services Officer reports to the Manager, Asbestos and Projects, Infrastructure Services Division.
About the Role
In order to deliver the above you will have responsibility for (but not limited to) the following:
- Undertake research, analysis and evaluation to support business improvements and provide support to managers and team members in implementing improvements and promoting best practice within the team to support the management and administration of the department's infrastructure, planning and asset management programs.
- Participate in teams involved in the formulation of innovative and workable solutions for infrastructure, planning and asset management related services that align to industry acknowledged quality standards.
- Maintain effective communication and collaboration with internal and external networks to support departmental responses to issues and best practice approaches to implementing consistent processes on a range of infrastructure and planning related services.

- Interest in data analysis tools and techniques, with a keen eye for detail. Ability to prepare high-quality reports and presentations for various audiences.
- Responsibility for operational activities and for prioritising workload to ensure that services and programs are delivered within required timeframes. Ability to develop innovative and client focused solutions.
- High personal accountability, and a drive to deliver real outcomes and benefits for stakeholders.
- Ability to provide high level advice, information and support services across a broad range of infrastructure, planning and asset management related issues, with a strong focus on client centric facilities services and the provision of advice to staff in schools, regional teams and the wider community.
