About your new role
The City of Gold Coast is seeking a motivated and experienced professional to join our team in managing and restoring the health of our catchments and waterways.
In this dynamic role, you'll lead the delivery of key catchment and waterway rehabilitation projects, ecological studies, and catchment investigations. You'll play a vital part in shaping the future of our waterways through the development of catchment action plans and supporting the waterways barrier removal and remediation program.
You will contribute to policy development and respond to public enquiries with professionalism and care. Additionally, you will assist with waterway health monitoring, track emerging risks and opportunities, and help secure external funding through grants. Duties for the role will include (but not limited to):
Project manage catchment and waterway rehabilitation projects, ecological studies and catchment investigations.
Development of catchment action plans.
Support the development and delivery of the Waterways Barrier Removal and Remediation Program.
Provide technical advice to the City regarding catchment health.
Regularly report on changes, risks, incidents and opportunities to support proactive catchment management.
Assist the Catchment Technical Officers to undertake waterway health monitoring.
Review development applications, policy formation, and restorative action with respect to waterway and catchment management.
Partnering with internal and external stakeholders on catchment desired outcomes.
We’re looking for people who have:
Bachelor’s degree of Environmental Science or Equivalent Knowledge.
Experience in catchment management and water way related projects would be highly desirable.
