Are you looking for long-term employment in an environment that values and supports our small team?

Enhanced Care Associciation (ECA) is a not-for-profit disability provider that values personalised, quality care over profits.

ECA provides short-term accommodation, SIL and community access supports to young people with complex, multiple disabilities.

Our respite house is located at Sinnamon Park. Our SIL homes are located at Forest Lake.

We are seeking support workers who have experience in complex health requirements and want long-term employment with a smaller organisation that cares for our participants, their families and our staff.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

We are seeking support workers with a passion for providing individualised, quality supports and bringing positive energy to the workplace.

You must have experience working with young people who live with multiple, complex disabilities, and ideally, experience communicating with young people who are non-verbal.

Must Haves:

High Intensity support experience - PBSP / Autism, PEG, Catheter, Dysphagia management.

Minimum 2 years' experience providing complex, high intensity supports, including personal care (showering, aid changes).

Experience in hoisting and loading wheelchairs in a safe and efficient manner.

Availability to work at least 4 days a week

Availability to do shifts between 6am - 6pm.

Availability to work at least 50 hours each fortnight.

Current First Aid and CPR.

Current drivers licence and reliable vehicle.

Desirable

Experience in epilepsy supports and completed Midazolam training.

Experience driving a Toyota Commuter (long body van)

Experience in Positive Behaviour Supports and Maybo.

This role is NOT suitable for someone who can go only work during school hours.

This role is NOT suitable for people seeking a second job between other SIL sleepovers.

ABOUT THE ROLE

ECA provides support to 10 participants who attend our STA house for short stays and community access, and we operate two SIL homes.

Majority of shift lengths are 6 - 10 hours in duration.

From 6am - 6pm, supports are 1:1.

From 6pm - 6am, supports are 1 worker with up to 3 participants staying overnight. This is a non-active overnight shift, with sleep from 10pm - 6am.

Shifts are all based at our sites at Sinnamon Park and Forest Lake.

Participant transport is via our vans (not worker vehicles)

Day shifts can include personal care, showering, mealtime support, medication administration, as well as community activities or supporting to attend therapy.

Overnight shifts include settling participants for bed, monitoring alert systems, and attending to any disturbances. On-call supports are always available.

ECA's respite and SIL homes are residential homes. All shifts include some house duties such as meal preparation, house cleaning, preparing the bed for a participant, and laundry.

WHY WORK FOR US

ECA is small, not-for-profit disability provider providing supports to just 16 participants. Our board members are the parents of the participants - we are care-focused, not profit driven.

Our management office is onsite. There is no complex bureaucracy of who is supervising, just direct line of communication with an open-door policy.

Annual training week that staff are paid to attend.

Level 2.4 SCHADS, $45.58/hr casual rate for ordinary time and access to salary sacrifice. (to be increased from 1st July as per Fairwork)

This is a great opportunity to join a family-led organisation where you get to know each participant and make a difference in their lives.

HOW TO APPLY

Send your current CV and a cover letter advising of your availability and passion for disability support work, particularly in a family-led environment.

Interviews will be held as applications are received.

Multiple positions are available.
