About the role

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Assistant Director to join our team at Ascot Park Primary School OSHC and Vacation Care in Ascot Park, SA. This part-time role will see you play a key part in the management and operations of our dynamic before and After School Care, as well as Vacation Care programs. We are looking for someone to start immediately and can offer a minimum of 20 hours per week during term
and 30+ hours during Vacation Care, with the strong possibility of more. Contracts are reviewed every 12 months with the hope of long term and on-going employment.

What you'll be doing

Providing assistance and support to the Director in the provision of quality services for children and families

Supporting the Director to plan, document, deliver and evaluate children’s recreation and leisure programs using the recognised learning framework

Leading a team of educators and support in the operational management of the service as required.

Providing supervision, guidance and support for staff, students and volunteers

Developing, updating and evaluating the services policies

Developing and implementing positive behaviour management plans and strategies to support children and families with additional and complex needs.

Ensure the premises and facilities are secure, hygienic and equipment is in good condition

Work collaboratively with the OSHC Director, Principal, Business Manager, Governing Council, the OSHC Advisory Committee and OSHC educators

Assisting the Director with administration systems, and ensure that the service is compliant in all quality areas of the National Quality Framework

Supporting the Director to establish, evaluate and improve systems to ensure the goals of the QIP are met

Supporting the Director in planning in-service training and staff meetings

Supporting the Director in preparing submissions for supporting children with additional needs

Ensuring that records are maintained including child enrolments, attendance, illness, accident reports and observations

What we're looking for

A minimum of 2 years' experience in a similar Assistant Director or leadership role in the childcare or outside school hours care sector

Relevant qualifications in Early Childhood Education, Child Care or a related field

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with children, families and colleagues

Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to multitask and priorities effectively

A genuine passion for supporting the learning and development of children

A thorough understanding of relevant childcare regulations, policies and procedures

A current Working with Children Check, RRHAN Certificate, First Aid Certificate and Food Safety Training

All children are respected and supported through equity and inclusion. We are a Governing Council run service and have a capacity of 50 children. We operate Before School Care, After School Care, Pupil Free Days and Vacation Care. Opening hours are 7am - 9am and 2.30pm - 6.00pm during term and 7am - 6pm during Vacation Care.
