Continuing full-time position

Join the University as a Lecturer in Veterinary Pathology to deliver high-quality diagnostic services, innovative teaching, and research, while supporting the education of future veterinarians in a collaborative, world-class teaching environment.

Roseworthy Veterinary Hospital (RVH) is seeking a dedicated Lecturer in Veterinary Pathology to join our team. Based at South Australia’s only veterinary teaching hospital, this role offers the opportunity to combine clinical service, teaching, and research in a dynamic and supportive environment. You will play a key role in delivering high-quality diagnostic services across a diverse caseload, while also contributing to the training of the next generation of veterinarians through innovative and engaging teaching.

We are looking for someone who brings strong expertise in veterinary pathology, with experience in a diagnostic laboratory setting and the ability to contribute to original research in a related field. As part of RVH, you will collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team of veterinary specialists, clinicians, nurses, and researchers, all committed to advancing veterinary science. You will also have access to modern facilities, advanced diagnostic equipment, and the chance to engage with industry and professional bodies to further strengthen our impact.

At RVH, you will be part of a collegial community that values integrity, respect, excellence, discovery, and collaboration. By involving final-year veterinary students in case management, modelling the highest standards of clinical and professional practice, and contributing to ongoing research, you will make a meaningful difference to both the profession and the future of animal health.

To be successful you will need:

  • Experience of working within a diagnostic veterinary laboratory in a government, private or academic institution setting.
  • Experience with original and independent research in a related area.
  • Demonstrated ability to promote the organisational values of integrity, respect, collegiality, excellence and discovery, and a commitment to positively comply with the associated behaviour expectations.
  • Experience in innovative teaching, strong professional engagement, and excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A qualification in Veterinary Science (or equivalent) acceptable for registration in South Australia, with membership-level attainment in the Chapter of Pathobiology of the Australian & New Zealand College of Veterinary Scientists (or equivalent).
