Coscare Inc. runs a lively and dynamic OOSH service that offers before and after-school care for students attending Croydon Public School, in addition to providing vacation care during school holidays for these students and the wider community. We are currently looking for a positive educator who exhibits flexibility, dependability, and enthusiasm, coupled with excellent communication abilities.

Your core duty will be to assist in the execution of our well-organised activity programs, maintain a conducive environment, and ensure the constant supervision and safety of children. The ideal candidate should be available for after-school care sessions, as well as vacation care on most days, demonstrating a genuine and proven interest in working within environments designed for school-aged children.

POSITION DESCRIPTION

We are actively seeking an OOSH Casual Educator to join our well-established service at Coscare. This position will be offered on a permanent part-time basis, encompassing both after school care, as well as vacation care programs for children aged between 5 and 12 years.

As an OOSH Educator, you will be expected to actively participate as a member of a team dedicated to delivering high-quality childhood education and care.

THE ROLE

Coscare is on the lookout for a dedicated and passionate Qualified Educator to become a member of our team. As a provider of top-notch care and education to children, we are steadfast in our commitment to providing the highest standards of service to the families we serve.

As a valued member of our team, you will play a pivotal role in shaping young minds and making a positive difference in the lives of children and their families. Working under the direction of our experienced Leadership team, your responsibilities will encompass assisting in program planning, offering sensitive and professional support to families, aiding in positive behaviour management strategies, and advocating for the inclusion of children with additional needs.

Our dedication to excellence extends to our workplace culture, fostering a supportive atmosphere that promotes ongoing learning and professional development. This part-time role is available for 5 afternoons each week (Monday through Friday), with an immediate start.

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE/ QUALIFICATIONS.

• Proven experience in engaging with groups of children aged 5-12 years.

• Current certification in HLTAID009 for providing Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR).

• Up-to-date HLTAID012 certification for administering First Aid in educational and care environments, or completion of Anaphylaxis and Asthma Management Training that aligns with the requirements set by the Education and Care Services National Law 2010 and Education and Care Services National Regulation 2018.

• Valid clearance for a Working with Children Check for paid employment (or a willingness to obtain one prior to commencing work).

• Certificate III in Children’s Services or a Certificate IV in School Age Education as recognised by the Australian Children’s Education and Care Quality Authority, or current enrolment in an Early Childhood or Primary Teaching qualification program.

• Current certification in First Aid, Anaphylaxis, and Asthma Management training (preferred).

• Basic Food Handler Training (preferred).
