- Base salary $156,277 p.a. + 17% superannuation
About the opportunity
The Technical Facilities Manager, Fire will provide technical leadership and direction to ensure the compliance and reliability of all Fire plant and equipment, ensuring it is operating safely and meets all statutory obligations with asset life cycles maintained. In this role you will also be responsible for contract management to improve efficiencies in repairs and maintenance within a controlled budget.
Furthermore, you will build professional partnerships with teams, service providers and University stakeholders to ensure delivery of infrastructure services on time and on budget, with a strong focus on practical installation, configuration and communication.
Your key responsibilities will be to:
- oversee the efficient operation of all plant and equipment, ensuring optimal asset lifecycle management
- act as the central point of contact to Fire systems and services to best support academic and research needs
- provide in-depth technical expertise on asset monitoring, maintenance, and sustainability, ensuring all maintenance activities and equipment upgrades adopt sustainable energy reduction technologies
- manage asset strategies, ensuring regular quality assurance assessments on maintenance tasks and coordinating with external authority bodies concerning university engineering services.
- manage work area reporting and legislative compliance, ensuring data accuracy within university systems and alignment with work area standards.
About you:

- trade qualifications and/or a minimum of five (5) years' experience in Maintenance of Fire Systems and or associated Mechanical HVAC systems, with good working knowledge of AFSS and AS 1851
- excellent communication skills both written and verbal with an emphasis on analysis and strategic planning and succinct reporting and recommendations
- up to date knowledge and experience with current WH&S, QA and ideally environmental legislation and systems
- experience working with capital works, infrastructure and development projects
- familiarity with the operation of Services generally, including (mechanical, hydraulic, lifts, fire, electrical etc.) and Building services delivery.
