Venture Housing Handyperson

Reporting To: Business Support Manager

Venture Housing is a not-for-profit registered Tier 1 community housing provider. The Handyperson is critical in ensuring timely repairs to homes and higher tenant satisfaction. Venture Housing has a strong focus on providing affordable and social housing options for very low, and low to moderate income earners who may be experiencing housing rental stress in the private market, or who may need social support and may struggle to find a home.

The position objective of the Handyperson is to work closely with the Venture Housing Property Management Team to provide hands-on delivery of small reactive and cycle property maintenance jobs.

The Handyperson will work as part of the operational team and assist in the delivery of small maintenance jobs and provide guidance and support for planned maintenance on the organisation's assets.

Key Responsibilities

1. Some of the services you will carry out include:

Handle minor property repairs & maintenance autonomously

Minor carpentry

Minor housing painting

Minor structural repairs

Maintain property equipment

Checking smoke alarms

Cleaning windows

High cleaning (fans, exhausts, vents)

Changing light bulbs and tap washers

Mowing lawns

Tidying overgrown gardens

Experience

1. Demonstrated experience in home maintenance, cleaning and gardening services

2. Experience in evaluating, engaging and managing contractors and supplies for maintenance works and upgrade activities

A Ute / trailer to carry the tools

Mandatory Checks

1. Current drivers licence

2. National police clearance check
