This is a hands on, active and busy supporting role with lots of responsibility and plenty of room to grow and advance your career whilst developing the position. Supporting the Farm Operations Manager, you will be involved in developing a sustainable farming system specifically planning staff requirements and ensuring sufficient staff are recruited, trained and retained.

Position duties and responsibilities include:

Create a welcoming atmosphere, where all farm staff feel safe and supported

Complete and maintain the weekly roster and associated systems.

Manage the staff leave calendar.

Coordinate allocation of farm vehicles and accommodation.

Complete staff inductions when required, including HR induction & digital systems training

Work closely with HR Assistant to ensure the smooth commencement of new staff

Induct mentor and support students who are on placement

Recruit staff

Ensure current SOPs are in place for the main farm tasks (milking, feeding, kid rearing)- collaborate with the ops manager and lean implementation team to ensure these are in place and accessible.

Maintain a plan of staff training and ensure enough farm staff are trained to meet future needs

Complete Total Plate Count (TPC) reporting for the farms

Record minutes from Meredith Goat Farm (MGF) meeting, and associated actions when required.

Pro-actively follow up to ensure that agreed change is implemented

The Candidate:

The successful candidate will have an understanding of routine work on a farm, have excellent planning, communication and teamwork skills.

Experience in Agriculture will be well respected but not essential

Experience in completing rosters

Demonstrated leadership skills, with ability to communicate at all levels

A can-do attitude with a flexibility in thinking will be a must for success in this position.

Show a willingness to chip in and help the team on the ground when necessary
