Mars Recruitment is seeking a highly experienced professional to join our Business Risk Oversight team as Manager within Risk & Resilience. This is a pivotal Line 2 position, helping to strengthen operational risk management and resilience practices across a complex, high-profile financial services organisation.
In this role, you'll report to the Senior Manager and collaborate with diverse business areas to embed strong operational risk ownership, provide independent oversight, and contribute to the development of frameworks and tools that ensure business continuity, effective incident response, and robust third-party risk management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement operational risk and resilience frameworks and practices.
- Provide Line 2 oversight of controls across business continuity, incident response, and third-party risk.
- Monitor and report on operational risk effectiveness across departments.
- Partner with Line 1 stakeholders to embed risk accountability and ownership.
- Deliver training and awareness programs to uplift organisational capability.
- Prepare clear, insightful reporting aligned to risk appetite and strategic objectives.
Experience & Capabilities:
- Around 10 years' experience in operational risk and resilience, ideally in financial services, large corporates, or regulatory environments.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in risk, finance, economics, compliance, or related disciplines.
- Strong track record of influencing senior leaders to invest in operational risk and resilience.
- Ability to build trusted, strategic relationships that support effective oversight and challenge.
- Recognised subject matter expertise in operational risk and resilience, with experience supporting business stakeholders' learning and development.
- Demonstrated innovation in Line 2 risk practices, leveraging evolving industry approaches and technologies.
- Solid understanding of business continuity planning, third-party risk, and operational disruption scenarios.
- Excellent written, verbal, and stakeholder engagement skills.
